How the Ancients Viewed Hurricanes/ Does Solar Eclipse have connection?

Since Ancient times Hurricanes have been a problem but is there any difference from how they were back then and how they are in present day? The answer is that they were more back then and it seems that the Earth is returning towards that way...with a twist that is.
